Today’s Professional Marketer is of a different breed and new methods are employed to do the work that previously was standard procedure in MLM, Network Marketing or general recruitment training. Your ACN Business card print cost would be much better used in other areas, in fact all “traditional” marketing methods are now by “default” obsolete in the quest to prospect more downline or securing more prospects. In five easy steps I am going to not only give you the reason for not using business cards for prospecting ACN prospects, but I will also expose the Marketing Secrets of Network Marketers for the future.

Step 1. People are not really that interested in you unless they have a reason to be. Lets be honest, just because you have found something that (to you), is extremely interesting and exciting it is very difficult to pass this emotion on to other people in such a way that the person (who has maybe never seen or heard about you before) will become excited too. So already here we are back to, that your prospect in the first 3-4 seconds passes a judgement on your looks, your intentions and your honesty and though being curious about why he or she was handed the card in the first place and that they sincerely promises to render some action, statistically maybe 1 in 100 actually does. So unless you manage to relate to them in five seconds flat how you are going to solve their problems, you are still a stranger and object of mistrust and fear.

Step 2. A business card does nothing for anyone who hasn’t got a reason to buy. Can you easily interest a stranger, who is very thirsty, in the water that you promote? Yes of course, but why? Because the stranger obviously has an immediate and urgent “need” for the stuff. You were able to solve his problem quickly, so there everyone is happy. Would the stranger have cared if it cost money to get your water. No not the slightest, if of course he had some, otherwise that would be another problem, for someone to solve. Let me take you a little further, what then, if the stranger you met needed a single roof tile to his or hers house. just one single roof tile? How perceptive would he/she be if you had the one they wanted. Again if the price was right and so on. Can you see we have the start of a ratio building up here, a mathematical formula measuring (needs vs. supply vs. urgency=interest).

Step 3. The simple cost factor of a properly produces quality business card, puts it out of reach of the average person and therefore not able to be dublicatable. One of the most overlooked factors in Network marketing is the ability for everything to be “copied”. I remember when I started and one of my downline distributors suggested to me why don’t we do letter drops to prospect for more downline. It seemed such a great idea, for a relative small investment, I could have some fliers produced with a “killer” message that would get everyone who saw it get involved instantly, yes? Many problems comes here, as most MLM companies rules and regulations prohibits this type of promotion because of the spam effect ( yes even before spam) we had physical letterboxes that we didn’t wanted to be full of “Junk Mail” and the cost of producing fliers put it out of reach with many new distributors.

Step 4. To use business cards for ACN or any other MLM (Multi Level Marketing) Business, means that you will give them away to someone, to get them to call you, if they are at all interested and in this process, sorry to say, you already have lost most of the credibility (more on that soon) so what remains is a card with someone’s “name” and “title” Let me ask you, when was the last time someone gave you a card, that you treasured and gave due diligence just because someone handed it to you? Or did you just put in your wallet going yes I will keep that for now and simply forgot about it, only to find it when you cleaned out your wallet 3 month later and you’ve almost forgotten who that was. Yes. Especially if the person didn’t follow up on you with a phone call or a letter.

Step 5. I hope I have managed to give you many good reasons, why using business Cards for ACN or any other Network Marketing Company would be an exercise in futility, but let me also fulfill the promise of revealing to you what today’s sophisticated MLM Marketers are using and the very short answer is ” The Internet” why? because everyone uses it, it’s readily available, even for free at the libraries around the world. People who hasn’t got a computer at home can simple go to their nearest public library and book some time and literally “run their entire business online”. Remember what I said about being dublicatable, Hey using a public library works well, and it’s free. However there is a real need in Network Marketing for a correct and unfortunately most of the upline sponsors you end up with is working from “I think this might work”. I was in MLM for many years, costing me an absolute fortune in both time and money, before I realized that my upline had no idea about putting networks together and even with all their love and good intentions, sooner or later it comes down to “You” and “If it is going to be, it’s up to You”.

Through commercial advertisement on TV and on Reality based programs about people, actors are depicted having a multitude of good loving friends and that life is one big party. We must here as mature adult with a measure of common sense, realize that this is simply not true and that most people just have their own close family and a selection of a few good friends and associates.

Admittedly there are people who have many friends or big families, the latter probably the largest group, but today’s lifestyle prohibits large gatherings simple by lack of time or money.

So if you feel like you are the only one not living the “lifestyle ads” relax as most normal people don’t have that sort of lifestyle.

To cater for many people, takes money, even when people bring a plate there are still expenses with having people come over or having a simple barbeque. That outlay in most peoples circumstances already battling huge mortgages, is simply too much and that’s one of the reasons, that people wants to build a Home based, Part time business, to regain the Time, Money and lifestyle they hunger so badly need.

People long for more time and more money to actually have a lifestyle instead of just working all the time. Most people are sick of getting sick of not having enough money or time to do what they so badly want to do not only for themselves but also for their family and friends.

Time and Money, is what Network Marketing is all about (“passive income”, money that arrives into your account, like royalties from a book you wrote many years ago, every week without fail and more than you could spend. Think about it, more month than money or more money than you could spend in a month, which do you like most?

Of course, If we went on the streets and asked people this question, apart from a few doubters, most people would agree that to have money coming into one’s account automatically each and every week, would be utopia. Ok, so if most people would like to have that sort of money coming in and the “opportunity”, you are suggestion, will give them that and more, why don’t they want to listen to you?

Remember the word from earlier ” Influence”, which literally means to “sway peoples opinion, alter their opinion or get people to change their mind, simply by you having something people respect, admire or gives reason for admiration or envy with you friends. In other words, if you where to make yourself a self made millionaire, do you think you best friends would listen to advice from you on how to do it? Yes for sure they would.

But most of the time all what our friends and relatives have seen is a track record of failures, even though you might have grown immensely in the process and now are much more happy and excited about life, most people don’t understand the concept of delayed gratification and need to see the latest SL500 Mercedes in your driveway for you to have some credibility with them.

I know what you are thinking, if they all just got in your business and did something, then we would all be successful, right? Yes, I felt that too on many occasions, but look what I found was that this is not going to happen, because, most people are happy doing exactly what they are doing, right now and you better get used to that idea.

Even if you did make a million and put the “Mercedes” in your driveway, chances are they would still not get involved, because they like their lifestyle just the way it is, believe it or not. Anyway good new are on the horizon, because gone are “the old days” where people flogged the pavement of the local shopping malls looking for suitable prospect.
